Chelmsford Young People’s Drug & Alcohol Project…

Ever considered being a Volunteer Mentor? At the Children's Society East the volunteers help The Children's Society in work to support and empower children and young people whilst gaining experience in a leading national charity and developing knowledge and skills. They are looking for committed and passionate volunteer mentors to work alongside their project workers to provide exceptional services to the young people who engage with their service. Whether you are a student, a graduate, recently retired, between jobs or just have some regular time to spare this could be the opportunity for you! The Children's Society is a national charity that runs local services, helping children and young people when they are at their most vulnerable, and have nowhere left to turn.

The Children’s Society are hosting an open day on Friday 27th October, Midday to 6pm, 114 Springfield Road, Chelmsford, Essex, CM2 6LF

This is one of the social action projects we support as a church.

There are invites at the back of St Mary’s or talk to Sheila Melvin to find out more.

Shoeboxes for Families and elders living in Eastern Europe

A note from Fiona: ‘Link to Hope’

Once again this charity is asking for Shoeboxes for families and elders living in poverty in Eastern Europe.

There are leaflets at the back of St Mary’s with details of how you can fill a life with smiles this Christmas by the gift of a Shoebox to either a Family or an elder couple.
Friendly Circle are filling elder boxes at their meeting on 11th October - if you have any spare shoeboxes or gifts - please pass to me or leave at the back of St Mary’s and I will ensure that they get to a good home.

With many thanks
