Our Ministries

Harmony

A Whale of a Time – July 2019

Harmony is our weekly bible club for children attending High Ongar Primary School A team goes into the school and the session will consist of bible stories, crafts, songs and games.

The Harmony club are invited to our regular services to talk about what they have been doing, and will perform and take part in an annual musical evening which parents are invited to attend. Harmony is led by Jo Saward, Rev Stewart, Melinda Bundock and Wendy Pike.

Home Groups

Midweek, the church family gathers together in smaller groups for more in-depth and engaging study of the Bible, personal prayer and deeper fellowship. If you would like to be a part of a home group, then please contact us and we will arrange to meet up with you to assess which home group would best suit you.

Friendly Circle

Friendly Circle is our ministry for older folk. We meet on a monthly basis every second Wednesday in the month, 2.30pm at St James’, Marden Ash.  It is an opportunity to gather together, sing some of the old hymns, hear an inspiring word and meet some interesting people, with refreshments of course.

Alpaca Farm visit

This year we will be visiting an Alpaca farm, having a garden party, and packing shoeboxes to send to Romania through Operation Christmas Child. See the Calendar of Events for more details.

Women’s Coffee

Coffee and chat

Every Thursday at the Kings Head in Chipping Ongar we meet as a group of women for coffee, chat and fellowship. Open to all, come and go from 10.30a.m. to 12.30p.m.

Local Mission Taskforce

We sent 55 bags full of practical items and treats to the homeless of Chelmsford via Sanctus Homeless Cafe

We want our churches to be at the centre of our communities so our Local Mission Taskforce looks at ways of engaging with our communities through regular and one off events, not solely based on our regular services. Examples of this include a “Pancake Races and Family Fun” event on Shrove Tuesday; a Christmas Bags for the Homeless project; Quiz nights; regular breakfast walks from Chipping Ongar to High Ongar finishing with breakfast in the Coffee Post and much much more.

See our Calendar of Events page for what’s on this year.
