Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Prayer meeting

Parish Prayer Meetings

On the first Wednesday of every month, the members of all the churches in the Parish of High Ongar get together to pray for the work of the church - to give thanks for God's goodness and to pray through various needs and issues in and around the parish.

As Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, prayer is essential to the life of a church. Not only is this because it helps us to avoid anxiety and trust in our great and good God, but more importantly it is a great gift that we have been given through Jesus' death on the cross. Our guilt and sin has been taken away by Jesus on the cross, and so we can enjoy unlimited and total access to our Father God and present our requests to him.

So, if you are able to, please join us at 8.00pm at The Rectory, The Street, High Ongar on the first Wednesday of every month for an hour of prayer together.

Parish Prayer Chain

We also have a Parish Prayer Chain for any needs for prayer - not just for illness.   The rules and guidelines for use of this Prayer Chain can be viewed by clicking on the link.   Items for the Prayer Chain can be given to Mary K on 01277 363571 e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
